Veratrole is a clear colorless liquid (above 22°C). It is mainly used in manufacturing of drug intermediates, which further gives API such as Verapamil, Mebeverine, Donepezil, Papaverine etc. It also used in manufacturing of Agrochemical Dimethomorph.

Introduction

Veratrole is clear colorless to slightly yellow colored liquid (above 22°C) or crystalline solid mass with pleasant aromatic odor.

Veratrole is manufactured in industry by methylation of pyrocatechol and used as a precursor for the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients, flavoring agents & perfumery products.

Para-Benzoquinone is manufactured by the oxidation of hydroquinone. It is used as a polymerization inhibitor and as an intermediate in the production of a variety of substances including rubber accelerators and oxidizing agents.

PBQ may cause adverse effects on human health. PBQ is able to stain skin dark brown, cause erythema (redness, rashes on skin) and lead to a localized tissue necrosis. It is particularly irritating to the eyes and the respiratory system.
